Tinto Fino Ultramarino is a great little restaurant in the centre of Valencia. They have one area which is more like a wine bar as there are only high seats. In the room next door they have normal restaurant seating. This is one of those few restaurants where I always return. The food is a mixture between Spanish and Italian tapas dishes. They also have a lot of amazing wines and the staff is very knowledgeable about them. Just tell them what you like in a wine and they will get it for you!
One dish that I always order here is the parmigiana. This is already one of my favourites at any Italian restaurant, but at Tinto Fino it tastes particularly amazing. This dish is oven baked eggplant with mozzarella, tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese. I love eggplant and I love cheese, so for me this a combination to die for!
Next we got the burratina and tonnato. The burrata was served with dried tomatoes, truffle cream, serrano ham and rocket salad. The cheese was really creamy (as it should) and it paired really well with the ham. The other dish was made of baked veal slices, tuna sauce and capers. This one also tasted really nice, especially the tuna sauce, but it is probably not one of my favourites.
The fourth tapa we got was the hatillo: mozzarella and artichokes wrapped in speck. I have had this dish before at this restaurant and then I really liked it, but this time I think they didn't heated it long enough as the mozzarella was not melted yet. I do love the combination of speck, artichokes and the mozzarella, but I think the cheese needs to be melted inside.
For dessert we had a coffee panna cotta served with chocolate sauce and it was so good! It wasn't too sweet and it helps that I absolutely love the taste of coffee. The texture was also perfect: silky smooth with a little wobble.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The food and the wine are both really good and I also love the service here. I have already been here a couple of times and I will probably be back soon. Arrivederci!
